About The Teachers

With a decade of dedicated teaching experience, Jennifer Munk is the lead teacher at Tiny Footsteps Preschool. Jennifer's passion lies in nurturing young minds and guiding them to reach their fullest potential. She finds immense joy in witnessing the growth and development of each child under her care.

Jennifer studied and learned all that she knows about teaching from Heather Traeden, who holds a degree in child development and was instrumental in starting the charter school Legacy Preparatory. This strong educational foundation has shaped Jennifer's approach to early childhood education, emphasizing a supportive and engaging learning environment.

In her personal life, Jennifer is married with grown children. She loves spending time with her family and being outdoors. A black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Jennifer enjoys staying active and is now exploring new hobbies such as painting, exercising, reading, and continually increasing her knowledge. Her commitment to personal growth and creativity reflects in her dynamic teaching style, making her an invaluable part of the Tiny Footsteps community.

Teaching Style

Tiny Footsteps Preschool focuses on a Classical Education and individual learning approach. We utilize the Core Knowledge Sequence, Reading Mastery and Saxon Math. A typical day will include the following subjects: Interactive play, the pledge, songs, poems, literature, calendars, math and numbers, handwriting, reading, letters, social skills, snacks and manners, history, science, and arts and crafts.

As a student of Tiny Footsteps, your child will not only learn to read* and be prepared for grade-level math concepts, but will grow in social skills (e.g. sharing, taking turns, cooperation, empathy, etc.), fine motor skills essential for kindergarten (e.g. cutting, gluing, handwriting, etc.), and other necessary skills such as listener response, attending, participation, learner motivation, and creativity. Our goal is to ensure your child’s success in future learning environments by building your child’s positive self-concept, sense of accomplishment, confidence, and instilling a love of learning within each student.

*on average, 90% of our 4-5 year old class will be reading by the end of the school year
